Three Strand Cord operates as a fundraising and conduit organization to support local churches within the United States who have long supported overseas missionaries by sending short-term teams to aid work being accomplished in international locations. Through short-term missions teams, construction, medical, and evangelistic programs can be undertaken beyond the capacity of the missionary acting alone. Recognizing the power of the work done by these teams, the program focus of Three Strand Cord is three pronged:
First, Three Strand Cord works to strengthen and enhance the work being done by the short term teams and the in-country missionary by identifying unfilled needs and finding funding and materials to meet those needs.
Second, after the trips are completed, Three Strand Cord attempts to maintain relationships with the missionaries working abroad by continuing to provide supplies and materials needed to support their ongoing efforts.
Finally, Three Strand Cord attempts to engage participants of short term mission work by providing continuing opportunities for them to serve in similar programs closer to home.
Three Strand Cord accomplishes its goals by partnering with organizations, corporations and nonprofit organizations in order to provide a clearinghouse for mission trippers, missionaries, and local participants. Further, Three Strand Cord raises independent funds provide for specific needs of all three programs.
